1. Who we are
dorenva. is the brand of Baran Gökalp Gecekuşu, an independent app studio based in Türkiye. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), the data controller for the covered mobile application (“the app”) is Baran Gökalp Gecekuşu (“we”, “us”). 2. The short version
- On-device by default. Your items — receipt photos, documents, purchase and warranty details — live in the app’s private storage on your phone.
- No servers, no analytics, no ads. We hold no copy of your data and run no trackers of any kind.
- Backup is optional and yours. If you use it, the app writes an encrypted-in-transit backup to your own Google Drive (or iCloud on iPhone) — only when you tap Back up.
3. What covered stores, and where
The app stores what you enter and attach: photos of receipts, attached PDFs (manuals, invoices), and the details you type — item name, retailer, purchase date, price, warranty length, serial number, coverage notes, retailer contact, and reminder settings. All of it lives in the app’s private storage on your device. Camera, photo library, and file access are used on demand, on-device, only for what you are doing at that moment.
4. The only ways anything can leave your device
All of them are started by you:
- Backup (optional, off by default). When you tap Back up, the app writes your vault to your own cloud account: Google Drive on Android and iPhone (into the app’s private Drive folder,
appDataFolder), or iCloud on iPhone. The transfer is HTTPS/TLS. The destination is your account, governed by Google’s or Apple’s terms — we have no server, no key, and no way to read it. Nothing is ever sent automatically; there is no background transfer. - Exports. Exporting a backup file or a CSV opens your device’s share sheet, and you choose where it goes.
- Your operating system’s device backup. On iOS, your OS may include the app’s local data in your iCloud Backup or an encrypted computer backup, per your settings; on Android, Covered opts out of Google’s automatic device backup and device-to-device transfer completely (added 19 Oct 2026). Any OS-made copy lives in your account — not with us, and without any access for us.
Signing in to Google Drive, where you use backup, authenticates you to your account; the app requests the single, narrow permission to its own private app folder, stores no account identity, and sends nothing to us.
5. What we never do
We never collect, sell, rent or share your data. We run no analytics, crash reporting, advertising SDKs, or device/advertising identifiers, and we do no profiling. No account is created, and we never ask for your name, email, or phone number to use the app.
6. Retention and deletion
On your device, data stays until you delete it: delete any item with its photos and documents in the app, or use Settings → remove all local data; uninstalling clears everything from the device. If you used Drive or iCloud backup, the backup file lives in your account and you delete it there (deleting the app’s private Drive folder or removing the app’s iCloud data works). There is no account with us, so there is nothing on our side to delete — and nothing to request.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection (Art. 15–22). Under KVKK Art. 11 you may learn whether your data is processed, request information, learn the purpose and third parties involved, request correction or deletion, object to processing, and claim compensation for damages. Because we hold no data about you, these rights apply in practice only to any email you send us. Write to [email protected] and we will respond within the statutory timelines.
8. Children
covered is a household tool for adults. It is not directed at children, and we collect no data from anyone.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a future version of covered ever adds a new way for data to move, this policy and the store privacy declarations will be updated before that version ships.
